Back to Slack
Revisiting Hebden Bridge which was a very rich source for paintings back in the 1980s (back then I stayed in the hamlet of Slack just outside Hebden Bridge).
I had four long days of great walking and drawing so I have plenty of new drawings as source material. I don’t think I’ve ever walked up and down so many hills in so short a time - my leg muscles certainly noticed it. I had not thought about how things might have changed until I realised that spots I had drawn from previously had become somewhat obscured by trees (they will grow won’t they). Fortunately I found many new places I had not discovered before with excellent views and my walking took me further afield. Could have done with a bit of sunshine for the drawings but it was certainly perfect walking weather. Let’s see if some new work comes out of all that sketching.
