All in a good cause
If you don’t know about Art UK they are a cultural/educational charity which runs a website that documents artworks in public collections in the UK but they also run projects to promote art education.
They asked various artists if they would provide an edition for them to sell to raise funds to expand their schools learning resources at a time when arts education is being increasingly marginalised. One of the aims is to enable underprivileged children to get better access to art activities.
‘Unlike most charity auctions, where the artists give all the proceeds to the charity, our auction is splitting the proceeds with the artists. This was essential to us. It means that in addition to helping Art UK, purchases will support artists up and down the country.’
My print is a two block reduction linocut titled ‘Paesaggio Volterrano’
10 x 15cm printed on Somerset Waterleaf paper in an edition of 12.
The entire edition is being sold online by Art UK until 31st December
(through the Auction Collective) with the final print in the edition being auctioned.
It can be quite a hunt to find the right page as there are so many articles on the Art UK website so I suggest you follow this link which will take you directly to the print sale page on the Auction Collective site where you can see all the prints.
